WebFeb 24, 2012 · I have had quite a wonderful experience with a 100mm f/2 one and a half years ago, and a not-so-wonderful one with an 85 f/1.8 (found it not so sharp wide open, thus not being able to reach the desired shallow DOF). Question: anybody successfully using it on a crop (or even better, on a 7D) for similar purposes? In the outer 1/2 of the image they’re pretty even, but in the center half, the Sony GM is dramatically better, especially at higher resolutions. But as far as the test goes, the results are pretty simple.
