WebI first got into MBV back in late 1990 or early 1991, right around the time Tremolo was released (yeah, I'm an old guy, in my 50s). That whole time was great for shoegaze in general, and I bought most of it. Tremolo, however, really stood out to me, though. I queued up to buy Loveless when it came out in November. They have been described as sweet and sour, fizzy and carbonated, harrowing and haunting and despite the incongruities between these descriptors, they somehow all apply.

On tour, he used the Marshall Guv'nor, the Rat, and both Mayer's Mongoose and Axis Fuzz. Of course, most of MBV's live sound came from the Marshalls and pure volume. WebMusic.
