I'm not sure if this is the correct way but: Put some red locktite into the hole in the cam and press the pin in from the front after the timing gear set is installed. Put the eccentric on, then bolt it down. The washer will push the dowel in just far enough. WebAlso, if the chain itself didn’t slip, then you’ll be able to see the timing marks and how they should align. If the dowel was all that broke that wouldn’t have changed the position of the two gears relative to each other, so you can still put the crank gear in the right spot and see where the cam gear lands before taking anything apart.
