WebThe first method involves classification with variation in the chemical shift of methylene carbon of the prenyl group and the second method is based on variation in the chemical shift of the 5-hydroxy proton of prenylated flavonoids. In this chapter, we describe these methods and a third method of classification of isoprenoid-substituted flavones. A number of bio-active chemicals have been reported from Millettia pachycarpa including several prenylflavonoids. Several chemical analyses have yielded a number of novel prenylated isoflavones including erysenegalensein E, euchrenone b10, isoerysenegalensein E, 6,8-diprenylorobol, furowanin A and B, millewanins-F, G and H, warangalone, and auriculasin from the leaves.
